AN ANCIENT, CONTEMPORARY ART

The secret of Madras® lies in chemistry.

By exploiting the unique properties of glass, exclusive Madras® chemical treatments permanently modify its surface appearance. Depending on the type of processing and the base glass used, special tactile and visual effects are obtained with great aesthetic and functional impact. This is how transparent glass or mirrors become Madras®, a valuable material for applications in architecture and design.

The raw material is flat glass in its entire range.

Madras® is produced with float glass in accordance with UNI EN 572 1-2, i.e. perfectly flat glass sheets that allow for transformation processes such as tempering and laminating, which are now essential for many applications.
For a wider range of uses in furniture and construction, Madras® processing techniques are also applied to laminated, lacquered, silvered, coated, magnetron-coated float glass and to printed glass.

• Base glass: monolithic and laminated float glass, silvered, lacquered, coated, magnetron-coated; patterned glass.
• Plate dimensions: 1800/2250/2400/2550 x 3210 mm (see individual products).
• Thicknesses: 3/4/5/6/8/10/12/15/19, laminated (see individual products).
• Float glass colours: extra-clear, clear, pink, green, bronze, grey, blue.
• Silvered glass colours: extra-clear/clear/bronze/grey.
• Lacquered glass colours: pure white.

MADRAS® GLASS IS EASIER TO CLEAN.

Madras® chemical processing techniques give glass surfaces a special silkiness that makes them far more resistant to dirt, fingerprints, etc., and easier to clean than glass made opaque with other techniques. Its beauty will last over time. For routine maintenance we recommend using a solution of water and a standard glass detergent and microfibre cloths (i.e. non-abrasive). Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately with a perfectly clean cloth.

RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IS A BASIC VALUE FOR MADRAS®.

The value of our glass is also linked to its eco-compatibility. Aware of the vital importance of environmental protection, we have developed exclusive know-how in this area over time and have equipped ourselves with a high-tech plant for the treatment of processing residues resulting from chemical etching. We thus fully comply with the requirements of Italian and European laws on the subject.
